Dodge Fitness Center Mural
Recently, prestigious Columbia University in New York City used digital printing to transform their Dodge Physical Fitness Center. In an effort to re-brand the athletics department, the university chose a material that would give the appearance of a painted mural; without the commitment and time involved with painted displays. These durable, heat applied graphics will withstand the daily wear-and-tear of hallway use while displaying some of the university’s best athletes.
How Was it Made?
These large format graphics were printed using our Latex 370 digital printing press, then laminated for added endurance by our finishing crew. Each printed vinyl panel was installed with precision and care by our dedicated installation crew. By applying heat directly to the panels, the printed vinyl was able to adhere to each section of the cinder-block wall for a painted-on look. This IJ180 3M vinyl material was perfect for this project as it conforms to textured walls while maintaining the integrity of printed images. Because it is removable, this display can be updated with new graphics to stay current with each university campaign.
